The Marple Series 290 Cascade Impactor has been re-specified with development assistance from Westech Instruments.

Originally a personal sampler for health and safety monitoring, the Marple 298 is now a device validated for use in the pharmaceutical industry, for example dust environment, cement manufacture, wood and glue being used in an industrial scale.

Accurate aerodynamic particle size distributions range from 0.4 to 21 microns with a nominal flow rate of 2 L/Min. Cutoff diameters have been independently validated using dynamic calibration techniques.

It is a personal cascade impactor and designed to be used in a personal way, the small pump provides 2-3 litres per minute. Therefore it attaches to a small pump which could be battery powered and can study the environment for a few hours of time.
